The Dean of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences Excellence Scholarship (International) By Regent’s University London (UK) 2018/2019 Still On

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
The Dean of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences Excellence Scholarship will be awarded to 3 applicants: 1 for Fashion & Design, 1 for Film, Media & Performance and 1 for Liberal Arts.
The Scholarship award will cover a quarter of the tuition fees for the selected course.
 

FIELDS OF STUDY COVERED

Undergraduate
Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences, applicable to the following BA (Hons) courses:
  • Acting & World Theatre
  • Fashion Design
  • Fashion Design with Marketing
  • Fashion Marketing
  • Film, TV & Digital Media Production
  • Interior Design
  • Screenwriting & Producing
  • Liberal Studies:
    • Art History
    • Business & Management
    • English
    • History
    • International Relations
    • Journalism
    • Political Science
    • Media & Communications
    • Public Relations
    • Psychology

ELIGIBILITY

Please ensure that you meet these minimum entry criteria before applying:
  • All nationalities (including Nigerian)
  • Achieved a minimum of 3 “B” symbols at your A level (or international equivalent qualification)
  • Meet the minimum requirements for your selected course
  • Follow the guidance on how to apply (below)
  • Received an offer to study at Regent’s University London (by the application closing date)
  • NOT a first year student in your selected degree programme

HOW TO APPLY

The scholarship is a competition – enter by following the details below according to your selected course:
Fashion & Design Applicants:
  • Fashion Design/ Fashion Design with Marketing/ Interior Design:
    • send your art and design work portfolio, as well as your sketchbook material and research (in electronic format)
    • explain why you would like to study at Regent’s University London towards a fashion & design course (in approximately 300 words)
  • Fashion Marketing:
    • write an essay on the topic: Select a luxury fashion brand. Determine how they have used modern technology to market fashion. (in approximately 1000 words, well researched, written in an analytical and critical way)
    • explain why you would like to study at Regent’s University London towards a fashion & design course (in approximately 300 words)
Film, Media & Performance Applicants:
  • Acting & World Theatre:
    • write an essay on the topic: “Theatre is a meeting point, a crossroads of cultures” – Discuss how valid this statement is, making reference to specific practitioners or theatre practices. (in approximately 1000 words, well researched, written in an analytical and critical way)
    • explain why you would like to study at Regent’s University London towards an acting and world theatre course (in approximately 300 words)
  • Film, TV & Digital Media Production:
    • write a piece for a television project (it can be a documentary/ fiction or light entertainment and must be approximately 1000 words)
    • explain why you would like to study at Regent’s University London towards a film, TV and digital media production course (in approximately 300 words)
  • Screenwriting & Producing:
    • write a script for a subject of your choice, the story must be concluded (the script must be approximately 5 pages in length)
    • explain why you would like to study at Regent’s University London towards a screenwriting and producing course (in approximately 300 words)
Liberal Arts & Humanities Applicants:
  • Liberal Studies:
    • write an essay on the topic: “The benefits of a liberal arts education.” (in approximately 1000 words, well researched, written in an analytical and critical way)
    • explain why you would like to study at Regent’s University London towards a liberal arts course (in approximately 300 words)
